Redlands Airfield is a great location to chill out with friends and family for an afternoon.

If you know someone who is doing a parachute jump or a trial microlight flight you are more than welcome to join them at the Airfield.

We have a large outside seating area with a perfect view of the parachuting and microlighting. We also have a cafe with an indoor seating area. We serve a wide range of freshly cooked hot and cold food including home made soups, chilli and cakes, bacon rolls, burgers, sandwiches, paninis, ice creams and snacks. 

Even if you don’t know anyone jumping, please come along and watch; you will be made very welcome. It’s really exciting to watch the parachutists landing on the drop zone right in front of you and there is a real buzz at the Airfield amongst the spectators. Whilst you are here, you will be able to watch the students complete their parachute training and the parachutes being packed, you can chat to the pilots and the experienced parachutists who will happily tell you about their sport. We are a really friendly bunch at Redlands and love to share our passion for aviation and parachuting with you.

Tailwind Cafe opening times are:

• Fridays - May to October -12 noon until 5pm

• Saturdays - March to December - 8.00 am to 5.30 pm

• Sundays – March to December – 8.30 am to 5.00 pm

The cafe is closed during the winter months, January and February and on days when the weather isn’t suitable to jump.

Dogs

Dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are NOT permitted on the site. This is for the safety of your dog, our pilots and spectators. Please do not bring them as you will be asked to take them home.

Accommodation

There is no accommodation on site and this includes camping and caravans. If you would like to stay over please try the following local Bed & Breakfasts:
